As usual, boring FOTD
You just can’t expect a dramatic smokey, party ready eyes from me. Or rainbow colored, gemstone inspired eye designs. Wortel is about subtle, brightening looks that are appropriate for office or date
Anyway, I’ve always been interested in simple monotone makeup, but even more so lately since I catching up on Grey’s Anatomy. Lexie Grey has such a clean, fresh look I love it! Plus, Bobbi has been campaigning about 5-minutes morning routine with her new eye cream and tinted eye brightener pen. Sounds great for lazy ass like me who almost always wake up late
Yesterday I went for rosy complexion. Since I have neutral/cool skin, pinks and roses work very well on me. You may want to use other tone, like something creams and peaches for example? Anything which brightens the overall look
Face:
Illamasqua Satin Primer SPF20 blended with fingers after sunscreen has sinked in.
Skinfood Mushroom BB Cream SPF20/PA+ in #1, first stippled with fingers then I gave a once over with a cosmetic sponge to ensure smooth finish.
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach under eyes, patted with ring finger. Layer up as necessary, then gently buffed with cosmetic sponge.
NARS Loose Powder in Snow, patted with a flocking puff. I always put a mesh sifter on top of the powder, to ensure the sponge won’t pick up too much powder.
MUFE HD Loose Powder, patted lightly with a flocking puff then buffed with Everyday Minerals Long Handled Kabuki brush.
Eyes:
Skinfood Vitamin Shadow #4, a cool toned pale pink color, on my lids. Packed it up with E.L.F Eyeshadow Brush.
Lined waterline with Stila Kajal Liner in Rose Quartz.
Curled my lashes with Koji #70 Eyelash Curler, then followed with Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus Mascara.
Stila Brow Set in Medium is brushed on my brows using MAC #208 Angled Brow Brush.
Cheeks/Highlights:
NARS Mata Hari dabbed on the apple of cheek using MAC #187 Duo Fiber Brush.
Stila Pretty Pink, the highlighter part (it’s champagne-pink in color), is lightly brushed on my nose bridge and chin using MAC #168 Large Angled Contour Brush.
That’s it! It’s certainly not a 5-minutes routine since I have terrible skin (acne scars, dark circles and all), and I have bald brows….I have to be extra careful in placing the products. It takes me about 15 minutes instead
But overall I’m satisfied with the result; as it fulfills my goal to have brighter, fresh, evidently-made-up-but-not-too-much face
*Yes, I dyed my hair reddish dark brown…but the red vanished in a week time and left me with brown only.
