I think it was fuz who tagged about fashion secret? Forgive me babe if I was wrong
It was quite some time ago…but a girl in FashioneseDaily forum asked for a clue in incorporating black tights into work outfits, I think I’m gonna combine these 2 topics. Because I LOVE black tights
I don’t know if I should call myself fashionable or not. I love fashion, that’s for sure. But I’m not the kind of girl who wants to look perfect everyday. Sometimes it’s super casual for me, with jeans and t-shirts, even to work. Luckily my office is quite casual. But those days when I’m wearing something more office friendly, I think my style is different from the rest of the crowd. I prefer it that way though, since I have my own personal style.
Even though I used to love my outfits I think it’s getting boring. Another skirt with black tights? So I need your advices ladies. Please give me some clue after you’ve seen the shots!
So, here’s the key of my office wear composition:
- Generally speaking, I lean towards simple feminine style. It may be feminine-cute, or it maybe feminine-elegant. I love classic pieces, but I love to jazz them up a bit. I love understated glam.
- I love blacks. I just love it, I think it looks polished. Furthermore, it contrasted well with my rather fair skin. I also feels it accentuated my neutral-cool complexion and makeup.
- I often throw a bright piece to spice up my black outfits.
- Black tights is almost a must. Again, it makes me look polished. It completes the overall look. I went without tights once, and boys were like “….you look bad without your black tights”.
- I love winter pieces! I don’t need you to tell me I live in tropical country
I just love it. Of course, I won’t go with “full blown” winter attributes. I don’t go around wearing furry hood here
- For reference, my favorite fashion magazine is CanCam and AneCan. The style there is so very me.
On to the pics! Sorry for the blurry quality….SE G900i can’t seem to capture well in darker condition.

Office Wear 1
The very basic one.
Black shirt — ZARA.
Floral skirt — brandless.
Cable knit pink cardigan — ZARA.
Opaque black tights — Topshop 80 denier.
Boots — Topshop.

Standard Office Wear 2
Told ya I love winter style
Purple turtleneck — ZARA.
White skirt — brandless.
Military coat — ZARA.
Opaque black tights — Topshop 80 denier.
I want to get the 120 denier one from Topshop…but there’s more to black tights you know. I also love lacey black tights. Sexy!

Lacey tights with LBD
Black tube dress — MANGO.
Black trench coat — GAP Kids.
Black lacey tights — GAP.
A closer look at that tights:

GAP lacey tights + ZARA LBD
I love black laces. I think it’s sensual and mysterious, while being feminine at the same time.
And BTW, I think ankle boots will match the outfit above much better
I don’t have ankle boots yet, I rarely shop for clothes and shoes you know!
Anyway, last pic; I wear this to office since the office party was held later that night. I don’t know if such outfit is allowed at your office though.

Black Socks
Another variation of black tights: over-the-knee one. Gives sexy but cute look to hotpants and mini skirts. The pants looks big in the pic above, but actually it fits me fine. I’m a bit picky about that, I think it’s very important to get clothes that have good cutting, one that fits you well.
Black cardigan — brandless.
Lacey coral babydoll — brandless.
Pants — ZARA.
Black socks — brandless.
For accessories….I’m very simple so I don’t wear much accessories, especially to office. I always wear a watch, other than that I love to wear chandelier earrings. I think chandelier earrings frame my face nicely, while accentuating the feminine style.
For shoes, just make sure the color schemes match your overall outfit and black tights. If you’re more classical, black pumps fits very well. Other than that, I love boots. knee-length, mid-calf, or ankle boots, all fits very well. In the first pic you can see me combining furry suede boots with the black tights.

Topshop Suede Boots

Topshop Suede Boots
It’s really cute, I love this boots!
Clearly, I only use this indoor
If you work in Indonesia, by now you may realized that I really am quirky compared to the rest of the casual workers. In a cute way I hope
And btw, some people seriously thought I’m an expatriate. You’ve seen my face in those FOTDs; I think I’m very Chinese (which I am), but people often throw comments like “You look a lot like Japanese.” Some of them said this was because of the way I’m dressed, really?
Some also think I’m way too glam for office, really? That group of people includes my families; like brothers and aunts. I’m only combining several classical pieces, you know
What do you think?
My response is always the same: “I’m wortel, don’t compare me to your average girls because I deserve more”, LOL!
So, to end this lengthy post…..what would you suggest to improve my work outfits? I’m getting bored of these. Don’t ask me to wear full-length pants, I never found one that fits me well. I also hate frilly blouses and suits, since I’m seriously petite.
For reference, I’m 155cm/42kg. 23 years old.
