From www.macys.com:
This rich, restorative cream hydrates, de-stresses and helps repair skin’s appearance while you sleep. Ideal for anyone looking for a technologically advanced repair product for nighttime use. Dermatologist tested.
- Comforts: The relaxing scent of Lavender Extract calms and refreshes.
- Hydrates: Sweet Almond Oil helps skin maintain natural moisture levels.
- Repairs: An advanced Protein Activator helps boost natural collagen production to help reduce the look of fine, dry lines. Milk Thistle Extract plumps, firms and smoothes tired skin.
My Skin Type:
Actually very oily, but surpressed with BHA exfoliator. Results in generally ranging from very dry to normal/combo skin. Generally dehydrated, very sensitive, and acne prone.
Packaging:
Heavy glass jar that is painted white so it’s opaque. But the jar won’t preserve the advanced ingredients such as Green Tea. I think they should use a tube, at least. Even pump bottle is possible for this product, due to the light texture.
Texture:
Light cream. Very easy to be spread and is non greasy.
My General Review:
A well formulated moisturizer from a brand that seems more to excel in makeup? It doesn’t sound very likely.
But what about if the brand is owned by Estee Lauder? Which happens to be the foremost in making advanced moisturizer. At least in my opinion
And I think EL spread its recipe across several of its brands. The result is: a great moisturizer in the name of Bobbi Brown
I started to find interest in Bobbi Brown moisturizers when a couple of friends was raving about their Vitamin Enriched Face Base. At that time, my skin has swing back toward normal/dry, as oppose to the previously combination/oily state; so I needed a new moisturizer. Luckily I found some ingredient lists for BB moisturizers in MakeupAlley, bless those kind souls! In the end I decided to take this Overnight Cream along with Protective Face Lotion SPF15; but that’s another review for another time
So I have begun to use this nightly, and I instantly love it from the first application. It feels pretty rich but sinks in quickly and leaves my skin very soft and smooth with no oily residue. In the morning, my skin looks more hydrated. It’s plumper, and….it makes my pores smoother! Nice feat! My skin doesn’t look exactly calmer or anything, but it’s not irritated. There are a handful of nice ingredients in here like antioxidants and cell-communicating ingredients, but I’m not sure if they’re working or not since the jar packaging will render those precious goodies useless in quite a fast manner.
Bottomline, I appreciate the great ingredients, but I hope they put them in a secure packaging. So I only use this mainly as a hydrator, and it works quite well in that regard. It’s best when my skin is more normal though. Slightly dry, or slightly oily. Because it will be too heavy when my skin is oilier (been there, tried that). And it’s not moisturizing enough when my skin is very dry.
What Else You Need To Know:
Despite the name, this cream can be used in broad daylight, I assure you. It’s just that I prefer something lighter for day.
There’s lavender in this product which my skin usually despise, but so far there hasn’t been any sign of irritation. Hopefully because it’s not present in large amount so it’s not potent enough to make my skin angry.
Application:
I apply this on top of my usual antioxidant serum.
Availability:
Here, Bobbi Brown is available in Grand Indonesia; but I never even set foot in there
Simply because I very rarely go to GI. I bought mine in Singapore, where Bobbi Brown is quite ubiquitous.
Price:
US$65 for 50ml. In my book, that’s quite expensive!
Ingredients:

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5. Nice moisturizer, light in texture but quite hydrating. Shame on the packaging though. At this price I think I deserve to get a functional and protective packaging.
